Tips & Advice
- Find a spot near the review stand on Main Street, where groups are asked to perform as they pass the judges.
- Tell kids ahead of time that there's no candy or beads, because participants haven't been allowed to hand out items along the route since 2022.
- Stay until the very end, because the official Santa Claus float closes the parade and no other entry is allowed to have a Santa.
- If your group is entering, email your certificate of insurance and endorsement pages by Nov. 6, because paper mail isn't accepted and insurance is required.
- Look for the judging winners on the parade's website and Facebook page after the parade, where they are announced.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is this year's parade theme?
America 250. Every float, walking group and band has to work the theme into its music, float design and costumes.
Will they throw candy or beads?
No. Since 2022, participants aren't allowed to hand out or throw anything along the route. That includes candy, flyers, flags, beads and confetti.
How can my group be in the parade?
Register as a motorized vehicle or float, a float with walkers, or a walking or performing group only. Registration closes Oct. 23. Every entry needs proof of insurance, sent by email by Nov. 6, and must attend the participant meeting on Nov. 16.
Can I drink or smoke along the route?
No. Smoking and drinking alcohol are banned in and around the parade, and so are firearms and fireworks.
