What is there for children?
The Kinderzauberwald has nostalgic rides, a petting zoo, a Kasperl puppet theater and a mosaic workshop. The Fürstliches Christkind appears on the palace balcony. Children can post letters in its mailbox below the balcony, and it answers every letter that has an address.
What food and drink is there?
Food is cooked over open fire pits, like wild boar on the spit, Old Upper Palatinate soup in a bread loaf and Regensburger Knackersemmel. A big kettle of Feuerzangenbowle is brewed every evening. Mulled wines include Fürstenkelch, Blaublut, Feenzauber and Bürgerglück, and there are many vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Where can I warm up?
The covered, heated arcades in the east wing serve baked-apple punch, waffles and hearty dishes. The Großes Blockhaus has a wood stove and over 120 seats. The Café im Schlosshof serves coffee and cake, and turns into a Christmas bar with music in the evening.
Can I tour the palace while I'm there?
Yes. You can join the regular palace tours of the historic state rooms right from the market. Buy tickets at the Thurn und Taxis stand on the grounds, which is also the meeting point.
Can we book a private hut for a party?
Yes. Wood-stove-heated huts hold groups of 9, 30 or 40, the palace vault holds up to 70 seated, and the Malturm ruin holds up to 200 outdoors. Catering is arranged for you. Book through info@pk-eventgastro.de.
