Tips & Advice
- Collect your Santa suit early at Shekinah, since suits come in three sizes and having yours well before the day leaves time to alter it.
- Write each runner's name and an emergency phone number on the back of their number, then pin it to the front of the suit.
- Wear sensible running shoes, because the route through the Barbican and Hoe is often wet and has cobbles, uneven sections and a climb up Hoegate Street.
- Walk around the two sharp left-hand turns at the end of Southside Street, and take care on the steep descent back onto Commercial Wharf.
- Park at the Harbour Car Park on Lockyers Quay and walk past the Aquarium and over the footbridge to Commercial Wharf, as the Barbican roads are closed.
Special Events & Promotions
- New route this year turns right down Hoe Road and then left along Madeira Road for views over the Sound.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still sign up?
No. Registrations are closed because the run has reached capacity, which is limited by the size of Commercial Wharf. You can still donate to the charities using the donation form.
Where do I collect my Santa suit and number?
Pick them up at Shekinah, Stonehouse Creek, Kings Rd, on the collection days in late November and early December. If you live outside Plymouth and can't make those days, you can collect your pack and suit at the start.
Do I have to run?
No, it's a fun run and walk, not a race. Choose one lap of about 2.5 km or two laps of about 5 km. Walkers, slower joggers and children should start further back.
Can children take part?
Yes, but children under 12 must be with an adult. A safeguarding steward is on the start bus, and stewards look after any lost children.
What do I get at the finish?
Every finisher gets a Santa Fun Run medal and bottled water when they show their running number. You have to wear your number and Santa suit for the whole run to get the medal.
