Tips & Advice
- Come to the reception on November 4 to hear the award winners announced and shop the 3D pop-up while the artists are there.
- Save your small-gift shopping for the November 4 pop-up or the December 5 Makers Market, because cards, jewelry and scarves aren't sold in the gallery this year.
- Drop by more than once during the run, because when a piece sells, the artist can bring in a new one to replace it.
- Look at both the wall shelves and the pedestals, because the 3D artists' work is spread across both around the community center.
Special Events & Promotions
- Artists' reception and 3D pop-up on Wednesday, November 4, where the awards are announced.
- Makers Market pop-up on Saturday, December 5, with cards, ceramics and other 3D work sold by the artists.
- New this year: extra pedestals and covers keep 3D art on display for the whole exhibition.
- New format: cards, calendars, jewelry, scarves and ornaments are sold at the pop-ups instead of in the gallery.
Quick Actions
Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of art is on show?
Original 2D and 3D work by MIVAL members, including paintings, glass, sculpture, ceramics and wreaths. It's displayed on the walls, pedestals and wall shelves at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center.
Can I buy the artwork?
Yes. Every piece is ready to sell, and MIVAL handles sales during the show. When a piece sells, the artist can bring in a new piece to replace it.
Where can I find cards, jewelry and other small gifts?
This year, cards, calendars, jewelry, scarves and ornaments aren't shown in the gallery. You can buy them from the artists at the pop-ups on November 4 and at the Makers Market on December 5.
What's new this year?
The show has a new format. Extra pedestals and covers mean 3D work can stay on display for the whole run, and smaller items are sold at the pop-up events.
How do artists take part?
MIVAL members with current dues can enter up to two 2D pieces and two 3D pieces, and any number of wreaths. New members must have belonged for at least three months. Entries are judged, and winners receive cash prizes.
