The Nutcracker by Rio Grande Valley Ballet
Audience members follow the classic tale of Clara and her family's Christmas Eve party, where Uncle Drosselmeyer introduces mechanical dolls and gifts a wooden nutcracker. When the clock strikes midnight, attendees see the Christmas tree grow and watch a battle between toy soldiers and hungry mice led by the Mouse King. The journey continues through dancing snowflakes to the Kingdom of Sweets, where the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier perform virtuoso dances accompanied by the sounds of the celesta.
