The LVR Open-Air Museum Lindlar invites you to "Advent im Museum" on December 15, 2024. Experience the museum grounds and historic buildings in a festive atmosphere. The aroma of freshly baked speculoos, cookies, and gingerbread fills the air. The historic rooms are decorated for Christmas and illustrate the evolution of Christmas celebrations from 1800 to 1960. Traditional Christmas carols and flickering lanterns create a contemplative atmosphere.

The Bergische Gartenarche collects and secures old land varieties and utility and ornamental plants that have been grown in the gardens of the Bergisches Land since before 1950. They aim to obtain region-specific seed varieties for home gardens and to pass on traditional knowledge about plant diversity.

Unique combination of hiking and slate museum.
Hike the Bergische Trail No. 8 "Steinhauerpfad" and learn about the historical and current slate mining in Lindlar's quarries. We will encounter the "oldest forest in the world" and hear stories and anecdotes about the lives of the slate workers. The new Slate Museum is also worth a visit.
