Tips & Advice
- Get your tickets once sales open November 3, since Evening in the Trees, Family Days and Jingle Bell Jam are all sold as advance tickets.
- The Starlight Gala is invitation-only and fills quickly, so request your invitation by email early and plan on formal attire for the evening.
- At Family Days, have kids collect a stamp at every Wonderful World station and show the stamped passport for a prize, because passports and prizes last only while supplies do.
- Leave the kids at home for Evening in the Trees, which is for ages 16 and older, and Jingle Bell Jam, which is 21 and over.
- If you're designing a silent auction item, submit the online item form by November 23 so your piece gets a sign and is entered into mobile bidding.
Special Events & Promotions
- This year's theme is What a Wonderful World, and the Family Days stations follow it.
- Tea in the Trees: hostesses reserve a table for eight and set it with their own linens, dishware, tea service and centerpiece, with lunch and a program; a limited number of individual seats are available.
- Evening in the Trees: a 16-and-over evening stroll through the trees with music from the David & Deidre Casey Band and complimentary hors d'oeuvres and champagne; advance ticket required.
- Starlight Gala: a formal, invitation-only dinner followed by the live auction of the ballroom Festival Trees; advance ticket required.
- Jingle Bell Jam: a 21-and-over night alternating line dancing lessons with Whitney & Rhonda and DJ Ricky Jams with the band Ten Years Gone; advance ticket required.
Quick Actions
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Festival of Trees good for kids?
Family Days are made for kids. Each child gets a passport to collect stamps at the Wonderful World stations: Photo with Santa, Gingerbread Village, Cookie Decorating, Letters to Santa, Funland Crafts and more. Kids 3 and under get in free. Evening in the Trees is for ages 16 and up, and Jingle Bell Jam is 21 and over.
Can I bid on the trees and wreaths?
Yes. The Silent Auction Mezzanine has hundreds of decorated tabletop trees, wreaths and gift baskets with mobile bidding, and there are raffles too. The ballroom Festival Trees go up for live auction at the Starlight Gala.
How do I enter a tree or wreath in the silent auction?
Register as a silent auction designer and fill out the online item form for each piece by November 23. On Decorating Day you drop off your tabletop tree, wreath or swag at the Helena Civic Center, fully decorated so there's little setup.
Can I volunteer?
Yes. The festival runs on volunteers, and volunteer registration opens October 7 through the Sign Up to Volunteer link.
What food and drink is there?
Evening in the Trees has complimentary hors d'oeuvres, champagne and sparkling cider. Jingle Bell Jam has food for purchase from 202 BBQ and a cash bar. Tea in the Trees includes lunch, and the Starlight Gala has a dinner catered by Chili O'Brien's.
