It depends on the grade. For Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten, German fluency is not required. Starting in grade 1, a good understanding of German is needed, and by Middle and High School, fluency and literacy in German are required. English fluency is not required at any grade level.

What tests are required for admission?

Applicants whose primary language is not German will be tested by a German as a Second Language teacher. Previous report cards are also requested. Students applying to the Fast Track program will also be tested in English and Mathematics.

What are the age requirements for Preschool and Kindergarten?

Children must be three years old by December 31 to enter Preschool (toilet trained required). Children must be five years old by September 1 to participate in Kindergarten.
