Know Before You Go
- Parking: No parking on Center Street after 4:00PM Friday. A shuttle bus service starts at 5:00PM from the parking lot of South Ridge Community Church, with return service after the parade in front of the Clinton House.
Tips & Advice
- Use one of the three designated downtown lots or the church shuttle, because cars left on streets along the parade route will be towed at the owner's expense.
- Keep your car off Center Street on parade day, since parking there is banned from the afternoon and the downtown streets close to traffic before the start.
- Find a viewing spot in the downtown streets rather than on Halstead Street, where spectators aren't allowed for safety reasons.
- Dress for whatever the weather brings, because there's no rain or snow date and the parade is always held on the first Friday in December.

Where's the best spot to watch the parade?
You can watch from anywhere along the route through downtown Clinton. The parade starts at New Street and East Main Street, across from the Post Office, and heads west onto Main Street and Lower Center Street. For safety reasons, spectators aren't allowed on Halstead Street, so stay in the downtown areas.
Where can I park?
There are three designated downtown lots: the Municipal Parking Lot, the Water Street Parking Lot, and the lot between Main Street and Lower Center Street. A shuttle bus also runs from the South Ridge Community Church lot on Pittstown Road (Route 513), just south of I-78. The return shuttle picks up in front of the Clinton House after the parade.
Will Santa be there?
Yes. The real Santa Claus rides at the end of the parade. No other Santas are allowed in the parade or the crowd.
What happens if it rains or snows?
There's no rain or snow date. The police, fire and rescue crews, bands and special entries can't all be rescheduled, so the parade goes ahead as planned.
How can my group enter a float?
Fill out the parade application. Spots are limited and there's always a waiting list, and accepted entries are notified. Walking groups aren't permitted. Anyone riding or walking with a float has to be listed on the application.
