Tips & Advice
- Register as soon as signups open on November 2, since the ornament workshop runs on only a handful of weekend dates.
- Plan a return trip to collect your ornament after it cools, or ask the front desk to ship it to you.
- Wear closed-toe shoes and cotton clothing, and tie back long hair, because those are the safety rules in the hot shop.
- The studio is closed on Mondays, so plan your ornament pickup for another day.
Quick Actions
Frequently Asked Questions
How old do you need to be to take part?
Participants must be 10 or older.
What will I actually do?
You pick your colors and apply them. Then you blow and shape the molten glass into your own ornament, with Barrio Glassworks instructors helping you the whole way.
Can I take my ornament home the same day?
No. Finished pieces need 24 to 48 hours to cool. If you can't pick yours up within a few days, ask the front desk to ship it to you.
What should I wear in the hot shop?
Wear closed-toe shoes and tie back long hair. Cotton clothing and long sleeves are recommended.
Will more dates be added?
Possibly. The studio may add extra mid-week dates, and the current dates may still change.
