Tips & Advice
- Arrive at least 10 minutes before your tour, because late arrivals and people who turn up for the wrong tour can't be fitted in.
- If you've booked an afternoon tour, get there early so the children can do the festive treasure hunt around the rooms before meeting Santa.
- Leave plenty of time to reach the castle, because there's no parking on site and December traffic in the city centre slows journeys down.
- Expect to leave your pushchair before going into the Victorian House, because pushchairs aren't allowed inside and staff will show you where to put it.
- Don't count on a Castle Key or other discount for this event, because they don't apply to Santa visits.
Special Events & Promotions
- Your Santa ticket includes 10% off in the Castle's Christmas Gift Shop, valid until Christmas Eve (restrictions apply).
- This year's visits are daytime group sessions, not the private evening tours of past years.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does a Santa visit at the castle include?
You get access to a selection of castle rooms and the grounds, a festive treasure hunt around the rooms, and a group meeting with Santa in the decorated Nursery. Your ticket also gives you 10% off in the Christmas Gift Shop until Christmas Eve, with restrictions.
Does every child get time with Santa and a gift?
Yes. Children take turns to talk to Santa on their own, and each child chooses an unwrapped gift from a selection of quality toys.
Does everyone in the group need a ticket?
Yes, every child and every adult needs one. Babies under 6 months don't need a ticket, but without one they can't visit Santa or get a gift. Each group has up to 10 children and 20 adults.
Is the visit suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs?
No. The historic House has stone steps and narrow doorways, so the rooms aren't accessible for people with mobility difficulties and there's no wheelchair access. Pushchairs can't go inside the Victorian House, and staff will show you where to leave yours when you arrive.
Will Santa speak Welsh?
A Welsh-speaking Santa can't be guaranteed.
