Trafalgar Square Christmas market(London)
What to Expect:
Traditional Norwegian spruce decorated with vertical strings of lights.
Description:
The Trafalgar Square Christmas tree is a 50-60-year-old Norwegian spruce, over 20 metres tall, selected from Oslo's forests with great care. It is felled in November and brought to London by sea, then erected in the square using a hydraulic crane. Decorated in traditional Norwegian fashion with vertical strings of lights, the tree is a symbol of gratitude for Britain's support during World War II.
