THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride
Embark on a magical journey aboard THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride, a cherished family tradition. The adventure begins with lively entertainment by Polar Express characters in the passenger station before boarding the train to the North Pole. Onboard, guests will be treated to hot chocolate and a sweet treat while the classic story is read aloud. Upon arrival at the North Pole, Santa Claus himself will board to present each passenger with the first gift of Christmas: a silver sleigh bell.

- Parking: Recommended parking in the City of Sacramento’s Downtown/Old Sacramento public parking lot located on “I” Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets, underneath Interstate 5. Pre-purchasing parking is recommended.
- Accessibility: The train cars have historic, narrow doorway widths and steep stepwells, making them not fully accessible. Assistance is provided for boarding and alighting. The museum and related event activities are fully accessible, except as noted for the train.
- Pets: No pets allowed

When do THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride tickets go on sale?
Tickets go on sale to the general public on September 23, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. PST. They can only be purchased online through the event website.
What is included with my ticket?
Each ticket includes the Polar Express Train Ride, admission to the Central Pacific Passenger Station for entertainment and shopping, and admission to the Eagle Theater to meet Santa.
Can I wear pajamas on the train?
Absolutely! Families are encouraged to wear their warmest pajamas and bring their copy of the book for the Conductor to sign.
What if we miss our train?
Departure times are exact. Missed train rides cannot be rescheduled and are not eligible for a refund. It is recommended to arrive at least one hour prior to departure.
Are there restrooms on the train?
There are no restrooms aboard the train, as the ride is approximately one hour long. Restrooms are available at the Central Pacific Passenger Station.
