Northampton Christmas Events 2026

First Night Northampton on New Year’s Eve is the city’s signature winter celebration, featuring performances, fireworks, and community gatherings. The Northampton Family Fourth Celebration in June is another major event, but for Christmas, Look Park’s Winter Wonderland and downtown light displays are highlights.

Northampton’s holiday traditions include festive downtown light displays, community markets, and the annual ball-raising at the Hotel Northampton during First Night. The city also embraces inclusive, family-friendly celebrations that reflect its creative spirit.

Downtown Northampton is the heart of the holiday light displays, with many homes and businesses joining in. The area around Look Park also features impressive light installations, especially during the Winter Wonderland event.

Look for holiday markets and artisan fairs in downtown Northampton, especially in December. The Garden House at Look Park also hosts a Holiday Market during Santa’s Trains, featuring local vendors and crafts.

Strolling downtown to see the holiday lights, visiting neighborhood displays, and attending free community markets are all budget-friendly options. Many events, like Santa’s Trains at Look Park, are free with donations accepted.

Families will enjoy Santa’s Trains at Look Park, with visits from Santa, model trains, and a holiday market. Downtown light displays and First Night Northampton also offer plenty of family-friendly performances and activities.
