Guests should plan on being on site for an hour and a half to be able to check in and get the full tour.

How much walking is required for a regular tour?

The guided tour requires walking on mulched paths and grass across the backyard to the slave cabins and around to the front of the house. Inside the historic home, there is one flight of stairs with shallow steps and one narrow flight of stairs with somewhat steep steps. For guests that are not able to climb the stairs, a supplemental tour book is available.

Are food and drinks allowed?

Food and drinks are strictly prohibited inside any building on the Historic Sam Davis Home property; however, they do encourage visitors to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grounds. Bring a blanket or enjoy it at one of the picnic tables.
