Is the Elf Explorer steam hauled?
Every effort will be made to ensure that steam locomotives haul our Elf Explorer services. The service will operate a 'Top & Tail' with a steam locomotive and a heritage diesel. Should a steam locomotive be unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute a diesel locomotive without prior notice.
How long does the Elf Explorer last?
The Elf Explorer Experience lasts approximately two hours, including a visit to the Winter Wonderland and Elf Show before boarding an hour round trip on the train.
Can I board the Elf Explorer at a different station?
You can only board the Elf Explorer at Oxenhope Station. However, you can park at other stations and use the Diesel Shuttle service, or catch the free bus service to Oxenhope.
Are pushchairs and buggies allowed on the train?
Pushchairs and buggies cannot be accommodated on the train due to narrow doorways and limited space. They should be left in your car wherever possible.
