The Martinsfeuer in Ahrweiler is an impressive event where the young men's clubs construct sensational hill fires and burning images in the vineyards around the historic red wine metropolis. With a bell toll at 17:30, the young men ignite their four Martins fires, which are visible from afar at around 20 meters high. Subsequently, large images made of thousands of torches are lit, conveying messages from the vineyard slopes into the valley.
