Tips & Advice
- Register early for the 58th International Silvesterlauf Gersthofen, as participant spots are limited to 1,500.
- Familiarize yourself with the different race categories (main run, Schülerlauf, Flitzilauf) and walking events to choose the best fit for your fitness level and age.
- If you plan to form a team for the main race, ensure all team members use the exact same team name during registration for proper grouping.
- Check the designated parking areas in advance and arrive early on December 31st to avoid any last-minute rush, especially with the absolute no-stopping zone on Sportallee.
- For participants in the Flitzilauf, parents or guardians are encouraged to run alongside the children to provide support and encouragement.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can we form a team?
Provide a unique team name for all runners during registration. The system will automatically group the fastest three runners into 'Team Name 1' and the next three into 'Team Name 2', provided all members finish the race. Participants without a club name will not be included in team rankings.
Can I get a certificate?
Yes, you can generate a PDF certificate for previous years' runs through the 'Ergebnis-Datenbank' link using your start number. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it.
Why isn't the main race exactly 10.0 km?
The organizers opted against a precise 10.0 km distance due to the gross timekeeping, mass start, and varied track surfaces, which make direct comparison with other races difficult.
How is the time measured?
The Silvesterlauf Gersthofen uses gross timekeeping (from the start signal to personal finish) in accordance with athletics federation rules. Net times are not recorded to avoid significant organizational and financial costs that would increase entry fees.
I lost an item, where can I retrieve it?
Lost and found items are kept at the TSV Gersthofen office. It's advisable to call ahead to confirm if your item has been deposited there.
