Necropolis of Portus

- The Necropolis of Portus is a complex of over 200 funerary structures, representing the southern limit of the burial ground along via Flavia. The tombs, often one or two stories high, are surrounded by an enclosure and feature facades made of bricks with triangular gables, plinths, lesenes, columns, and capitals. The Latin and Greek inscriptions on the doorways provide information about the lives of the deceased and their social status.

Julius II Castle

- A unique example of Renaissance military architecture with casemates and a moat.

- The Castle of Julius II, located in the Borgo di Ostia Antica, was built in 1483 by the Florentine architect Baccio Pontelli, commissioned by Cardinal Giuliano della Rovere (Pope Julius II, 1503-1513). The castle represents an important example of Renaissance military architecture. The complex includes a perimeter circuit of casemates (firing chambers) that connects three towers (one of which incorporates the Martin V tower), a 'ravelin' and a large surrounding moat.
